Silk Salon was born out of the client’s vision of carving out a luxury wellness space that centers black women — who have historically been an afterthought in the market. 

We wanted the interior to feel sexy, soft, and strong—like silk.  

We drenched the space in a palette of deep fig, apricot, and pink.  Used arches generously. Had custom wavy millwork fabricated. Deployed full height glass block walls. Put rose gold mirror everywhere we could. Found the sexiest lighting. Used powdercoated steel counters so as to not interrupt the monochrome vibes. Made a custom resin flooring blend. We did a lot of experimenting here!

Aesthetics aside, we also reimagined the typical salon layout + arrival experience by isolating the check-in area, and adding a lush waiting lounge complete with champagne service! We even introduced a VIP room to the programming—designed for private hair + makeup services, events, and larger groups. 

Silk started as a whisper in the summer of 2023, and she is now open and ready for you to stop by and live out your hair’s fantasy. ✨
